Hi Tore,
I'll check all your great pointers:)
I remain however convinced that this xlsgen may have a bit to offer. The functional cover is quite large indeed.
In spite of its whacky website and documentation, the first tests I made were quite conclusive. Of course what may cover the needs we have may not cover others'. I'm essentially concerned about the compatibility with all those generations of MS-Excel ressources. From the xls of old to the various dubious trial-and-error file formats of the xlm times....
Have a nice week-end
Daniel
PS: I just made a few additional tests on the support of the recent "binary" xlsb support (as opposed to the xlsx format) within the product. The speed is essentially up to the one reached with the pre-2000 xls formats. Great achievement IMHO. It is definitely fast. By the way, I have no personal interest into this venture. Just satisfied to discover a COM-based library that is fully maintained and is clearly workable from VFP.
