http://techcrunch.com/2013/08/13/facebook-mobile-user-count/Yeah well, in 1999 98% of the world use desktop applications exclusively too... Things change and usually to make the process of producing features easier not harder or more fragmented.
It'll happen, whether it's HTML or some other mechanism but this fragmentation will go away at some point.
