>UPDATE: Smiling at the acres of empty seats. There was nothing trendy about the Cubs back then. The seats were not filled by corporate types on expense accounts, customers in tow. You were a hard core baseball fan to go to a Cubs game.

Replying to myself endlessly .... many years later I organized a company excursion to Wrigley to watch the Cubs take on the Dodgers. There was not an empty seat to be found. Mark Pryor, pre arm trouble, was on the hill for the Cubs and was masterful. Down went those dastardly Dodgers. My daughters, who have been trying to fix me up with women since they were about 10, wanted me to go after Kate, who was one of our women there. I said she is about half my age and has a thousand guys after her already. "Come on, Dad, you can do it." You have to love daughters. We took the L to the Addison stop, half of us bound for Wrigley. It was an adventure for both of them.
