>>Yes....but what really matters is on "what". Remember, there's a MANDATE on certain spending now. :)

Seems to me that the US did OK in 2014- not only its quickest growth in 4 years, but outpacing the other major industrialized nations. All down to Obama and Obamacare, apparently. But still the naysayers need to find something to squash. And we only had to wait 2 days for the "Thanks Obama" that also answers your question re spending. ;-)

So here's my question: how can a graph of raw expediture demonstrate that healthcare is a significant cause of growth in Q4 as some of these Skyfallers insist? Surely you'd need to demonstrate *growth* in healthcare spending, not just a raw number that already is known to be high and subject to inflation. Undeterred, here's what one of your fellow complainants had to say:

The fourth quarter GDP was lower than forecast at 2.6 percent.
It would have been lower without the higher costs of healthcare brought on by Obama and Obamacare

LOL. This zerohedge stuff is all over the naysayer sites, gleefully posted by people who know Obama/Obamacare is to blame even if their version is opposite the reality.

I prefer stats like this:
- Fed spending decreased 7.5% in Q4 compared to an increase of 9.9% in Q3.
- Military decreased 12.5% in Q4 compared to an increase of 16% in Q3.
- Personal income growth was 3.3% in Q4 compared to 3.3% in Q3.
- Real GDP growth was 3.6% in Q4 compared to 4.1% in Q3.
- Real import of goods increased 8.9% in Q4 compared to a decrease of 0.9% in Q3.

I don't see Obamacare as a credible cause of GDP change in Q4 so far, and look forward to the 27 February figures to confirm one way or the other, as well as to aggregated 2014 figures to smooth out seasonal and other variations and show how things went overall last year.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
