That's not an argument. Besides, what did they swear?

- No revenue increases at all (neglecting the effects of inflation, population growth etc.)?

- No revenue increases funded by the American taxpayer? If so they should have no problem accepting payments from offshore accounts

If you think your various governments are crooks, you know what to do.

As for $280B, that represents almost $1K per capita and probably close to $1K per taxpayer. All other things being equal, that's an extra gee to provide more government programs (Dems) or tax relief (GOP) or otherwise buy votes (cynics). Hard for either party to argue against that.
