I also believe that Python is more accepted in the US than in Germany, possibly more than in Europe. My advice is to test the waters by asking your current customers before coding, even if coding is more fun ;-)

If you decide to implement along those lines, drop a line if something is added to the Dabo code base - nowadays I don't follow as closely as before.
I still think that way is best, as it gives you a testing fwk plus community used to describe encountered problems and sometimes providing fixes themselves.
