Comparing his legislative record to Mitch M's isn't a great idea, though.
His was one of the few voices opposing the Iraq war, one of the most catastrophic blunders in our country's history.
On that score alone, he gets a first round KO of Mitch.
If you wanted to find a conservative legislator who accomplished as much for his cause as Ted did for his, you'd probably have to back to the days of Robert Taft.
Nobody on either side of the aisle comes even close today.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
