The result of an SQL SELECT View will do nothing in the sence of the commands mentioned. It 's just an cursor of it's own. Until deleted record or one of the commands mentioned kicks in.

The work you like to do is normaly part of some framework, since it is used over and over again. So it have to deal with any datasource and all the problems. If not now, then soon.
