A few years ago I made the mistake of buying a kitchen table and chairs from a prominent company I won't name.
(Not Ikea) It came knocked down it.
The joints loosen on the chairs and need to be retightened every six months or so.
On the other hand, the desk I'm using to type this came knocked down many years ago and it's as solid as a tank.
The difference is in the engineering.
Designing knocked down furniture well requires a lot of skill and imagination.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
