Last time I tried PHP (2006, IIRC) it was just like doing textmerge html from VFP, just in reverse. When merging text in VFP to produce html, you do html text wrapped in code. PHP is code wrapped in html text. Syntax is a lot uglier, though. VFP's textmerge vs PHP's codemerge is like a posh restaurant compared with its kitchen.

Still, knowing one makes you at home with the other.
