Gary, I have done this very thing and my user's use it all the time. You can design the letter so it will fit into a "window" envelope so that you will not need a label, or even so that it folds correctly with no label needed. The letter is populated from Memo fields like you mentioned.

Like everyone else said there are lots of other programs and ways to do this - but this is quick and easy depending on how "fancy" you need that newletter to look.
