It consisted of seemingly actual C code submitted by real C developers that defied you to understand it. I really enjoyed it.

FWIW, I originally made the observation in grad school when our department was fairly evenly divided between those working in C and those (like me) working in Pascal. I agree that any language can be abused (and I've seen plenty of truly horrible Fox code over the years). I do think that some languages are easier to abuse than others, and that C is in that class.
