I think it's premature to speculate who will be our next president. She hasn't even formally announced she will run, though the vast majority of people suspect she will.

The odds are slightly in her favor right now, but she faces several significant challenges.

- Unlike Barack Obama, she lacks personal charisma and looks increasingly uncomfortable in public settings.

- Her political views aside, many election campaign experts acknowledge that others run campaigns more effectively

- Also, like it or not, she has some serious political baggage. Most on the right will campaign hard against her, and an increasing number on the left are very frustrated with her. If the most serious of allegations against her are true (and that's a big "if"), her odds will go down.

- Like it or not, her age will be a factor. If elected, she would be the 2nd oldest individual ever sworn in as president.

- Remember that the Obamas and the Clintons have never been on the best of terms. There is speculation that she will not have the full backing of the administration. Some people in the current administration are rather privately trying to pressure others (namely, Senator Warren and former Governor O'Malley) to run.

I agree she is still the early statistical favorite - but she still has a long road to climb, and I'm not even convinced she will run. Putting aside all of her "woe is me" crying about her personal finances, the honest truth is that she has managed money very badly and needs book deals and public speaking fees to fund her lifestyle. She is also a grandparent for the first time. I am not sure she wants to give those up.
