Ah, good to hear that it is baggage-free (rather than free baggage) -- those "piggyback" installs are annoying. For example the typical installer for JVM (downloaded from site "java.com") includes a copy of Google toolbar and Chrome (though at least you can disable them -- you just have to remember to clear the checkboxes during the install. Unfortunately a typical enduser will not be paying much attention and will simply click through the dialogs). I've noticed that the JVM installer found on the developer's area on the Oracle site (where you would download the JDK) does not have these "piggyback" items. If navigate through the Oracle website as if you're an enduser and try downloading the JVM, you're directed to the "java.com" website. If you select the automatic update from the reminder popup (which appears soon after a release of a new version of the JVM), the installer that is downloaded appears to be from site "java.com" and would contain those "piggyback" items.

>No baggage. I've used it for years. Whenever I setup a new machine or reinstall the OS, it's the first thing I install after Windows.
