Tuvia, without every meeting Mike personally (as far as I know as I don't know what conferences he went to), I can see all you said about him is true just by the way he responded in his messages here on the UT. Thanks for sharing.... it meant a lot to me.

>(If there is an email for Allie please let me know, I do not have a facebook account.)

>Mike was a stand-up guy. I worked with him on several projects, hired him on others, and at one point he lived just down the street from me. What made him a stand-up guy was that he always did what he said he would do, and he was loyal to his friends. Both character traits long gone from the standard mold of today's man, but not from Mike.

>More than once here on UT I have taken a position on one issue or another that resulted in somebody taking a personal pot shot at me. Without fail Mike -- who seemed to know everyone -- would jump in and vouch for me or back me up.
>
>I never heard him say a negative thing about anyone, even when just about anybody else would have. His friends and family meant everything to him. He participated on the UT not because he had any current connection with VFP, but because he wanted to be able to reach out to his long time friends.
>
>A good man is gone, his time with us is up. We can all honor his memory by remembering to emulate his good qualities and think "i'm doing this, it's what Mike would have done."
>
>There are no words that can comfort a grieving family. All we can offer is that we will remember Mike with great fondness, and that he did make a difference.

>>Just saw a message on Facebook that Mike Beane has passed. Here's the message she posted:

>>Hello,
>>
>>This is Mike's daughter Allie. Sadly this past Thursday my dad passed away. He will be greatly missed and has left a void that cannot be filled. He is truly the best man I've ever known. His service will be held on Saturday, March 28 at Barr funeral home in Chicago, Illinois. The address is 6222 N. Broadway. It would be helpful if anyone planning on attending could text or call me at 773-329-1333 just so we can accommodate everyone properly. Thank you.
