I did click OK but then nothing happened. I don't know the answer to the question on Windows Core.
I think I will start the installation of SQL Server 2012 Express again. Hopefully even if SQL 2012 is installed, it will not remove SQL 2008. And hopefully the SQL 2012 Express installation includes SSMS.
