In theory, yes, should be no problem. But when I tried, twice, last night, the installation would stop at a certain point. And I already started removing SQL Server 2008 and got stuck there too. I am in a complete mess in this case because of my own mistake of not getting the right file to begin with. I asked the IT guy to reboot the server tonight. Maybe it will allow me to completely remove SQL Server 2008 and I can start over.
