Oh, believe me, across the different tools in the SQL platform, there are many naming issues that aren't 100% consistent. After awhile you just get used to them and move on, but it can be confusing for someone looking at it for the first time. Within SSIS itself (a fantastic ETL tool) there are many little inconsistencies. I had a client who used to refer to efforts to clean up stuff like that as the "fit and finish" phase. Sometimes I think these tools could stand one more "fit and finish" phase.
