WOW! I went into Avast and found a place where I could set up file path exclusions. And now, miraculously, I have no problem compiling.

Who knew that an antivirus program could affect the compiles? (apparently several of you guys).
It's curious though, that I've never run into this problem before.

I REALLY want to thank all of you guys. You helped me find the solution. I've always said... the Fox community is number ONE.
