In my experience, vitamin C boosts immune system. I used to (since 20+ years ago) run a lot and outside, in all kinds of weather. I would often get colds. Then I read somewhere that vitamin C could prevent common colds and viruses. Ever since than I have been taking a vitamin C pill every morning (and sometimes in the afternoon if I need to do a serious workout). And the colds reduces drastically.
I think the supplement you take has vitamin C in it (I take this supplement too). Could be you are benefiting from it.
