Probably depends a lot on your eating habits. Eating enough fruit and veggies should give you enough vitamins. In winter I aim for 1.5l of orange juice per week at minimum taken in dayly dosis and in every 2 weeks I try to fit in brussel sprouts and broccoli each once and in the remaining days , 2 or 3 uncooked paprika eaten one half in one day plus at least 1 citrus fruit each day (that. often gets much higher dosage). That is to guarantee Vitamin C to be saturated, and on top of the two pieces of fruit every day during the year.
I try to stay away from such pills, but if going out a lot in cold weather or suspecting to have contacted some virus I sometimes take half of 1 of the vitamin supplements you dissolve in water in twice the amount of water specced for 1 tablet.
I stay away from soft/energy drinks, have too much coffee as well and if drinking wine or beer I aim to consume twice the amount of water as the volume of wine or beer finding the way into my glass. Plus a triple dose of orange juice the following morning.
Sometimes I catch something, but usually I give myself and the immune system a sabbatical of 3-5 days when symptoms are most irritating - plenty of heat, water vapor, rest and drink are enough for the bugs caught till now.
