>I have converted data from excel into dbf. The fields are 1.Regno(I) 2. Name(C) 3. Caste(C) 4.Region(C) 5. DOB(Date). Then I have to change the DOB filed type from character to Date. when i browse the the table, there is no value in DOB filed. Its shown \\ like this. How to correct this?

Looks like DOB column was not converted correctly. What did you use for converting Excel data into DBF?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
