>>The only connection between this and the previous comment, is the target. We get it- you have a thing about physicians. With the privilege of both being and not being a physician, I can tell you that for the most part, physicians are ordinary folk who tend to be smarter than Joe Average, or at least were good at exams, and who underwent residencies that used to be appalling and now are only difficult under conditions that others never would tolerate. You have to really, really want to practice to make it through. Meanwhile, for at least a decade the selfish greedies you imagine have known to do banking followed by law rather than medicine. Medicine increasingly is dominated by women who want flexible hours and to be on salaries so they can focus on patients rather than paperwork to get the bills paid. Your focus on individuals is not representative of a profession and perhaps you should focus your ire on the culprit rather than firing a blunderbuss.

Yes, I have a thing for some physicians and you nailed it exactly with that line.

Hmm ... others could not tolerate what MD's have?

Have you ever done Marine boot camp at camp Lejeune?
Have you ever been attacked by people whose only mission in life is to kill you?
Have you ever pulled KP during August in a mess hall that feeds 3,000 GI's and has no A/C?
Have you ever had to arrest an armed murderer?
Have you ever had a heart attack or a serious stroke?
Have you ever been homeless?
Have you ever taught a class in Camden, NJ or Detroit, MI?
Have you ever had to raise a family as a single mother while earning nurse's aides' pay?

Less seriously, have you ever had to debug from a binary core dump?

People, including MD's, do heroic things every day and the good ones don't wave that flag as a badge of distinction or use it as a license to game the system.

You thought that the guy who stole $160million is an exception. I don't see it that way and you nailed my reason exactly with that phrase- thank you.

Yes, there are lots of exceptions and they are MD's - some I count as friends - who do heroic and wonderful things along with all the other silent heroes among us.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
