I don't have an actual procedure, but a frequent requirement - which should be fairly easy to check - is something like: the password should have a minimum length (nowadays, the length should usually be at least 8 characters), and should have:
* At least one uppercase letter
* At least one lowercase letter
* At least one digit or special symbol
