The control is Microsoft Webbrowser control. I have tried it both ways.

Previously I had it dropped directly on a form.
(included the control under VFP8 Tools, Options, Controls, Then I select the class and dropped the control directly on to a form.

Since yesterday I have now sub-classed it as Webbrowse in a custom class called web_brwse (attachment #1).
Then I have dropped the webbrowser custom control on a form.as webbrowser1 (per attachment #2).

When I try to open the form, it still prompts for OCX file.

>What control are you referencing? And how are you adding it? Every machine has it installed unless you have some admin restrictions like I pointed out. There's no way it can't be there - it can only be restricted.

>>>The other issue that might be happening though is the fact the control uses IE7 by default and you're probably using a public mapping API. It's quite likely that the mapping API may have discontinued support for IE7 and that's why the map no longer works.
>>>
>>>You can work around this by setting registry keys for your application and forcing a more reasonable version of IE to run.
