>>Yes, being unable to buy a pizza where you want isn't a big deal, except for the attack on a person's dignity. However, in 29 states in the US (including some, like PA, that now have gay marriage), you can be fired for being gay. And it happens. That is an important issue.

>And there isn't a single pizza shop owner who is saying they wouldn't serve a gay couple who came into their shop. The owner of Memories pizza said they probably wouldn't cater a gay wedding. There's a difference.

The pizza shop owner was an idiot to answer the question, and the people who threatened violence (rather than boycotts) were idiots, too.
But the reality is that this law would have allowed people who are in the business of doing work for weddings (like florists and bakeries and bridal shops) to refuse to serve gay customers. If a bakery doesn't make wedding cakes, then refusing to make one for a same sex wedding is no big deal, but if you're in the business of making wedding cakes and your doors are open to the public, you should not be able to turn down a customer because of his or her sexual orientation.
>I agree, a person should never be fired for their orientation.
Yep, agreed.
