>>That might be science, but there is a lot of debate whether its conscious at that point. And then there is a medical and social factor as well, which is often ignored. Politics is not only about science, but also about dealing with those social questions. And the latter is not the strongest point of your country.

>I see...it "might" be science. Sorry Walter, but sort of reply bolsters the argument that science has become a political context to use as a weapon against a political party that (admittedly) is already known for very bad gaffes.

huh? Not sure what you're trying to say here.

>same questions as I asked Bill....

>What's your view on man-made global warming?

I'm blank on that. There is too much politicization on the topic. There has been serious doubts on the arguments of proponents of the global warming theory. Some data published in 2012 suggested the earth did not warm up in the last 15 years. The biggest mistake I think is to assume that any warming is man made. Climate has never been stable since the beginning. IMO the emphasis on CO2 is far too overblown. Man only contributes a tiny fraction of CO2 to the environment.

The IPCC scandal a few years ago does not add up to the credibility and a lot of facts of Al gores inconvenient truth have been contributed to natural events.

OTOH, I do believe we have some influence on the environment as every living organism does. Not sure to which degree. We do produce a lot of greenhouse gasses and some cities became unlivable because of smog, so global warming is not the only environmental threat.

>Is man-made climate change a "settled science"? Do you agree with the position of the current administration, and that it's the greatest national security threat?

No, stupidity is.

>What is a valid baseline methodology for capturing and recording temperature measurements?

No idea. Temperature alone is not the only indicator, and I do not believe even a reliable one as temperature change does not necessarily indicate man-made global warming.

However, the whole topic is a minefield. I'd could understand politicians take a stance in this quest and realizing being influence by lobbies.
Again, I'm blank. As for politicians not believing in evolution, I'm less forgiving. Such idiots do not belong in politics. IMO, there should not be a discussion about that anymore in 2015.
