I knew that in NYC they punish speeders harshly, so I definitely stay at or under the limit

As for CT (and Mass), it's 65 on the major interstates, and people drive well under that. It's statistically less safe to drive more than 10 mph under the posted limit on a major highway. And remember that traffic accident/death rates dropped significantly after the 55 law was changed back in the 1990s. I'm not advocating people act like the insane drivers in PA (and PA drivers are dare-devils), but people who crowd the left lane and stay under the limit are potentially creating problems.
