Slightly off-topic, the regular ListView ActiveX control can display the associated icon for any file via calls to several Windows API functions. An application does not need to store any images, since the OS already has them stored, or knows how to extract the default icon from a binary file.

An image attached displays VFP form hosting ListView ActiveX control on top of Windows Explorer window. You can see that icons and file descriptions are identical in both windows.
