So? Isn't that because of what they do, rather than who they are?
Where would we be without the protestors of the 60-ties and 70-ties? They are the ones who can make important things happen. Else we would still have official discrimination between blacks and white. And it seems its necessary again as the picture of police violence against blacks become clearer and clearer.
No matter if you like it or not, but being able to protest is a right, and one that has been proven useful in the past.
