I have an application written in Visual Foxpro which sends email. This has worked fine in every operating system until I tried it with Windows 8. To make sure it wasn't my application I tried sending in Eudora and Thunderbird always with the same result. I can receive email but not send. I have tried an alternate smtp port such as 587 but no joy. I have removed my AV software and disabled Windows Firewall.

A little bird tells me me you have an application that sends email over the web thus doing away with smtp - am I right? if you do, you have any code i could look at?
