That doesn't follow.

For production use, all apps, but especially legacy apps require a stable environment. If Windows 10 implements continuous updates, legacy apps could break at any time - appearance, functionality, security model/permissions etc.

Even if VFP works properly with Windows 10 2016.01.01, that doesn't mean it will work with Windows 10 2016.02.01. It's unrealistic to expect (and may not be possible) for corporate IT to fix Windows 10 at some point in time to guarantee functioning of critical legacy apps.

So, that means mission-critical legacy apps will need to be run on Windows 8.1 or 7. End-of-life for those products:

Win7: 2020.01.14
Win8: 2023.01.10

From a legacy POV it would have been better if Windows 10 is to be fixed feature set/technology. That way, legacy apps could be tested against it. If testing passes Win10 would be a supported platform up to its end of life. With the continuous update model, one day you get a call from all your clients because an overnight Windows Update broke your app.

Another issue for those who need to run VFP on servers is MS is introducing Nano Server, which is headless/no UI and 64-bit only (no Win32 support). They are making noises that this will be the foundation of future Windows Server releases.
