Don't buy a new house yet, Thierry.
You make a good case for FIC and I can see how it's a valid solution for people who are inclined to stay with VFP apps.
I'm not one of them. I jumped into SQL Server during the late 90's but hung back on .NET till 2008.
Then it became clear to me that (in order of importance):
a. the market for VFP work was drying up quickly and
b. .NET was a better way to develop apps
So, while I support several VFP clients, all my new work is done in .NET and any time a VFP client has a new project, we do them in .NET or another web language.
However many people whose judgment I respect are inclined to stay with VFP apps and FIC is a good choice for them
