Lutz,
To my experience to have a return in a With...EndWith does not mean you will run into a C000005 instantly. A procedure having this can run for long time and than suddenly turn into a problem.
Best is to avoid this.
There are some procedures around which can check your application for such error-causing events, CodeAnanlyst, to be found and VFPX and also Thor has a procedure to check for this.
