But this is about french. Written and spoken language are two different things. :)

Every lang comes with traps for foreigners (germans typically fail on english th while the town Mönchengladbach is a nightmare to the english ones. ö and two ways to speak ch )
Russian comes with a speak as you read style - but then it comes to Ъ and Ь and we are lost.
I know not much about turkish (IOW I can not order a beer) except that we and our turkish neighbors had a lot of fun calling anne in the backjard ... Because we meant our daughter ...
