>It really is that simple as "cars do not kill people, people do kill people". But if you take away cars, nobody is going to be killed in a car accident. But the cars has a very valuable social and economic purpose that outweighs that risk. A gun has no other purpose than a violent one.

>Tell that to hunters. If you eat meat, hunting is probably a lot more honest than buying it at the grocery store. What about target shooting for sport?

We have hunters here, but they do not walk around with guns that are frequently used in gun related crimes. Further there are very strict rules about using guns for hunting here as well. I do not think that anyone up here was killed with a hunting gun in the last 20 years.

>Law abiding people will obey the gun laws - the criminals? No so much. And criminals love unarmed victims.

LMAOLF, How does that fit with a 3yr old child killing his sister with a gun that was found in the drawer next to dads bed? Or that student that was a law abiding citizen just before he turned mentally disabled for whatever reason, gets a gun and kill half of his class?

Of course here as well criminals do have guns, but they are almost exclusively used to kill each other. And BTW, if you are faced with a criminal holding a gun, you're better of NOT having a gun. People without a gun are no thread to him while he will try to neutralize the citizens with a gun. Every idiot knows that.

I just can't believe that intelligent developers fall into this kind of bogus arguments.
