>>>And I bet if you ask 100 people on the street in your state as to what should be done to this guy, most will give you more or less the same answer.

>Yes some people are reacting differently.
>The article does also says "...This is an absolute hate crime," Gov. Haley said on Friday on NBC’s Today show. “We absolutely will want him to have the death penalty. This is the worst hate that I’ve seen and that the country has seen in a long time....". So remember - to fix hate it's important to hate this guy enough to kill him. And it's not the worst hate cime in the country in a "long time" either - unless a long time is just a minutes. If Gov. Haley really wants to deal with 'hate' I suggest she take that damn Confederate flag off the state capital right now today.

That confederate flag is the tip of the iceberg.
The main drag of Charleston is Calhoun Street.
John C Calhoun, a South Carolinian, was a foremost proponent of slavery and advocate of secession.
Strom Thurmond, the long-serving segregationist senator from South Carolina, would have made John C proud.

For a hundred years or so after the civil war, these people were all Democrats.
After the passage of the civil rights legislation during the mid 1960's, Nixon made a Faustian deal with them - his "Southern Strategy"- tacitly agreeing to oppose things like affirmative action, bussing, etc. in return for their support.
Since then, they've all shifted to the Republican side of the aisle.
Even Christie is jumping on the train by supporting restrictive voting legislation aimed at minorities.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
