I thought there was only a birther issue for the lunatic fringe. In fact the longer Obama let it play out the better for him as it really brought the crazies out of the woodwork.
Actually, if you look at the historical facts on this one, I think that you will discover that the "birther" issue was started by the Hillary Clinton campaign back in 2008
