Good stuff!

I first encountered the availability of monster fireworks (illegal for personal use in most first world nations fwiw) in Indiana when I saw a sign "Fireworks- 2 for 1" with a picture of a big mortar. I stopped and checked out the paint-tin sized options inside with Chinese writing on them. Some wag had put a translation sticker on one of them saying "Do not hold in hand." I thought it was a LOL but now I realize that you really do have to issue that sort of instruction to some people.

Shame re stopping the annual firework tradition. One day the big berthas will be illegal in the US as well, especially once some idiot puts one in their derriere and bazookas the town hall to a smouldering ruin or inadvertently lands a fireball on a Tabernacle Choir. Then you'll realize you don't know what you've got till it's gone.
