>>What business, pray tell, is not a fixed resource with variable demand?
>>Mine certainly is.
>>My son's engineering company is.
>>Dealing with that seeming paradox is called running a business.
I've explained the issue as best I can. Clearly you and your son are exceptional business people if your biggest issue is too many paying customers and the most appropriate response is to cut down your hours and therefore revenue. Unusual, but with that background you'll understand the ramifications of the medical situation as well as anybody.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
