>I was looking at some of the true types and found some that fit into box, but it seems that using the low resolutions as many here prefer (not sure why) i.e. 800X600, etc. that the bitmap terminal font seems to appear much more clear than the true types I am trying to replace it with even with clear type turned on. Any ideas why the true types would appear blurry even at these dinosaur resolutions?

A couple of settings you could experiment with:

Control Panel...System...Advanced system settings...Advanced tab...Performance settings...Visual Effects..."Smooth edges of screen fonts". Generally you can select the major option "Let Windows choose what's best for my computer", on my system the smoothing option is enabled by default.

Current versions of Windows also include ClearType, which is enabled by default. There is an "Adjust ClearType text" "wizard" you can run. If you type "ClearType" in the program search box it should take you straight to that wizard.
