As a matter of fact, I was one of the people who spent time demonstrating against the war....

>LOL!!! I grew up in the 1960's. I was a tie-dyed, fringed, pot-smoking, acid-tripping hippie liberal. Eventually I grew up :) However, I must say that, even today, I believe that the war in Viet Name was a HUGE mistake.
There were conservatives at the time who argued that the war served no interests to the U.S. It's been a long time since I read their arguments, but I do recall some conservatives questioning the will and the ability of the South Vietnamese to win.
Our involvement in the war was a mistake, no question. But what's worse was all the support (largely driven by the universities in this country) for the Vietcong.
