>>So you've spoken to people who do community work these days?
After all this time, still the sophist distractions?!
Are you able to identify an organically grown "community" group where the top luminaries cheerfully congregate with the noobs in an environment where stage guffaws at others is as rude as it would be in real life? Perhaps things are different in the SQL Server groups which no doubt are frequented by Microsoft's top database dudes and dudettes who cheerfully answer questions like "where do I put my query." Dr Dave would have.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
