Yes I (also) guess you are right, the now used design does not permit to read the dropdown window activated by the Open button/container.
The design is indeed very crowded.
Instead of recoding FoxyRibbon, maybe it is easier to allow the window now placed over the Open container, to resize to smaller so that one read the dropdown container.
Awaiting OP's clarification.
