Hi Mike:

For Plastic in particular I think that the tools I've developed, and you are using, allow a better integration and freedom to change and work on different branches.
If you try to automate the the convertion at the project level (as Scctext does, using the SCCAPI integration), then you can't work on branches, and worse: every file is checked in as a chaingeset.

FoxBin2Prg have support for this kind of integration to use directly in replacement for Scctext, but I strongly do not recommend using it this way.
Just for testing, I've added some test projects to Plastic using FoxBin2Prg with the SCCAPI integration, and with a project of 50 files, this causes 50 changesets! 1 for every file. It's just so crazy that make the SCM tool unusable, and tracking changes "as a unit" (atomic checkins) simply does not exist with this integration.

At the beginning I've tried to automate using Plastic's triggers for checkin/checkout and others, but I've found that this tight integration was very error prone and you loose the freedom to "fix" some things manually, so I I've take the simple path of doing one convertion for all "Pending changes" and then checking-in all at the same time.
