Lesser environmental impact in creating the device. And not to forget better overall efficiency. This is all stuff from 1900. The discussion e / steam / combustion was at that time. Electric was the best in sense of turning moment (that's why in some places trolley busses still are better then diesel), quiet and not exhausting, at least on the street.

I have several general stores within 10 minutes walking distance and a fine public transport system that covers 328km² for cheap (45 EUR/month) and much more with an additional fee per day. Tram / bus / (light) train in a clocked? run from 3min cycle (!) up.

>>Yeah this looks like the go the right way. Ligther, and lesser gimicks means clearly lesser consumption. My actual car has the same consumption then my first while much more efficent motor - but is 2-3 times as heavy.

>>Only thing if I need a car I need some space for my remaining three daughters and they like to bring friends with them. And since the car makers in there wisdom have decided that the back row need contoured seats I've got a problem. I realy would have a car a bit smaler then mine but the choice is this what is based on a C4 - VW Golf sized car - or somthing much bigger.. I had a Nissan Quest the last weeks - plenty space but consumption - well I was on holiday, a saxon mile is 9km long and a gallon means nothing to me :D
>
>..well that is for sure one issue with the Elio - space. Just two people and not much luggage room. But for a commuter car or something to get you to work and back it's perfect.. A guy I work with ordered one & he says it will pay for itself in less than 2 years because of how much money he will save on gas just getting to the office every day.

Yes, I can understand that. But for a simple drive to work its fine enough. No superfluous stuff, just a drive. How is exiting that thing? Looks very deep?
But it will not work for me - I have a 5m trip to work. :)
I miss the times where I could do a 12km trip with my bicycle 5am in the morning along the river meadow to work - but somehow an external office is to expensive. And I can not talk me into doing a morning trip for pleasure.
