I imagine that depends on the contracts in question. If not in the contract, the companies might argue a tort - that damage has been caused to their brands.

Any such actions would, of course, be subject to the Streisand Effect.

It's entirely possible he's done many good works for which he deserves praise. But, any relevance to the issue at hand is tenuous at best. There are two competing human tendencies in play here:

- that "One 'Aw, shit' wipes out a thousand 'attaboys'"

- for supporters to want to provide "character references"
