The c't article was much better on XEROX dealing with the problem. Complete fail. 2 months of e-mail, on site technican, replacement sets (of the wrong type again) and a bunch of lies from the public relations department to c't magazine.

But there is also a chinee entrepreneur that sells chip sets (4 Chips one for each color) for €15,00 on Alibaba/eBay
Second party replacement also available is half of the price of the cheap XEROX ones and could not be worst.

Sometimes I like my epson dot matrix back. If not color ribbon available it runs on carbon paper. (This is what we have done in the 80s in eastern germany) ;)
