>>What do police departments, Medicare and primary schools have in common with abortion clinics and television stations?
In context, surely it's obvious that they've taxpayer funding in common. Seems your objection is not to taxpayer funding per se? If so, then who should decide what is left to the free market and what ought to be centrally funded? FWIW I'm opposed to abortion so this is not a veiled support for planned parenthood...
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
