Luc,

>>That is what I'm looking for... a setting for memory that will allow Foxpro to use all the memory that is available to it.

I think it was George Goley who first documented VFP performance wrt memory, showing little if any improvement with heavy munging after about 64 Meg. Lots of people limit memory to 20 Meg to this day. We limit our apps to 128 Meg because there was no visible performance difference increasing to 512 Meg. Anecdotally, increasing VFP memory can in fact slow things down... and in your case with dbfs on local SSD with temp folders in memory, if there's lots of dbf writing then having everything cached locally might be expected to increase overhead making sure the cache is current.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
